- 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
- 1 small head (approx. 900g) cabbage, chopped
- 1 (approx. 150g) onion, diced
- 2 cloves (approx. 10g) garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz / 425g) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14 oz / 411g) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup (185g) cooked white or brown rice
- 1 tsp paprika
- to taste Salt and pepper
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and onion in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (undrained), paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the cabbage.
- Cover the skillet and simmer for 15-20 minutes over medium-low heat, or until the cabbage is tender.
- Stir in the cooked rice and heat through for 2-3 minutes, ensuring it’s well combined and warm.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

- Feel free to substitute the rice with quinoa for a healthier option.
