Description

A comforting and cheesy chicken noodle casserole that is perfect for a family dinner.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz wide egg noodles (cooked & drained)
  • 1 rotisserie chicken (shredded or chopped)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded colby jack cheese (divided)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • dried or fresh parsley (for color)

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning, colby jack cheese (1 cup), cooked noodles, and shredded rotisserie chicken.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Add half of the creamy noodle mixture.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
  6. Spoon over 1/2 of the marinara sauce.
  7. Add the remaining noodle mixture.
  8. Add the last 1/2 of the marinara sauce.
  9. Top with mozzarella cheese and colby jack for color.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 30–35 minutes uncovered, until hot, bubbly, and cheese is melted, on middle to lower middle rack.
  11. Let rest for 5–10 minutes, then garnish with parsley if desired and serve.

Notes

  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
  • For a spicier flavor, add more Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning.
  • Can substitute chicken with turkey or vegetables for a different variation.
