Description

Deliciously crispy skillet potatoes cooked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Place potato cubes in a bowl of cold water for 5 minutes to remove excess starch; drain and pat thoroughly dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat vegetable oil and butter in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until the butter foam subsides.
  3. Add the potatoes in a single layer, ensuring the pan is not overcrowded.
  4. Cook undisturbed for 5 to 7 minutes until the bottom layer is golden brown.
  5. Flip the potatoes using a spatula and continue cooking for another 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are crispy and the centers are tender.
  6. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure the potatoes are evenly sized for uniform cooking.
  • Serving with your favorite dipping sauce can enhance the flavors.
