Delicious chocolate cupcakes topped with a rich buttercream frosting.

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup heavy cream or milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar until well combined.
- Create a well in the dry mixture and add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Stir gently until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely before frosting.
- For the chocolate buttercream frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar while mixing and pour in cream/milk gradually until you reach your desired consistency.
Notes
- Ensure the cupcakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
- For a richer chocolate flavor, consider adding chocolate chips to the batter.
