Description

This grilled beef dish is marinated in a flavorful soy-based mix, providing a rich and savory taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1 tablespoon grated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 stalk green onion, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a medium bowl, combine sesame oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, grated garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and everything is well mixed.
  2. Marinate the beef: Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade. Toss to coat each piece thoroughly. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. You can also prepare this ahead of time and let it soak for a few hours for a deeper flavor.
  3. Heat the grill or pan: If you’re using a grill pan or skillet, preheat it over medium-high heat. You want it hot enough to get a nice sear on the meat.
  4. Grill the beef: Cook the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding. Grill each slice for about 1–2 minutes per side, or until nicely browned and cooked through. The beef should remain tender and slightly caramelized on the edges.
  5. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the cooked beef. Serve immediately with steamed rice, grilled vegetables, or dipping sauces like a sesame or soy-based tare.

Notes

  • For a deeper flavor, marinate the beef for several hours or overnight.
  • Adjust the quantity of soy sauce to your taste preference.
